Patients

More than 50% of all patients that have Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and are not treated with a product such as EKOS, may develop
Post Thrombotic Syndrome.

Examples of Post Thrombotic Syndrome

Patients with symptoms of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) are urged to contact their physician immediately
The earlier the treatment of DVT, the lower the risk of being disabled by Post Thrombotic Syndrome

Untreated DVT can dislodge and travel to the lungs resulting in a life threatening disease called Pulmonary Embolism

Patients Overview

Peripheral vascular disease (PVD) refers to diseases of the blood vessels (arteries and veins) located outside the heart and brain.

The terms Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) or Peripheral Arterial Occlusion (PAO) refer to conditions specific to the arteries and includes conditions that develop when the arteries that supply blood to the internal organs, arms, and legs become completely or partially blocked as a result of the build up of clot or plaque.

The term Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) refers to a condition specific to the veins of the legs or arms, that develop when they become partially or completely blocked as a result of the buildup of clot.
