EKOS Corporation pioneered the development and the clinical application of ultrasound accelerated thrombolysis, introducing its first system for the treatment of vascular thrombosis in 2005. Today, interventional radiologists, cardiologists and vascular surgeons at leading institutions around the world use the EKOS EkoSonic Endovascular System to provide faster, safer and more complete dissolution of thrombus.

Other applications which deliver physician-prescribed fluids or contrast agent to other targeted locations in the body are under investigation.

Robert Hubert
President and CEO

Bob brings to EKOS more than twenty years of marketing, sales, and general management experience in a broad range of medical device companies, from start-up to Fortune 10. Prior to joining EKOS, he was Vice President and General Manager of the Heart Valve Division of Medtronic Corporation. Bob's career also included executive positions with Cynosure, Inc., Instrumentation Laboratory, and Quantum Medical Systems, Inc. involving medical laser technology, critical care diagnostic products and diagnostic ultrasound. Prior experience includes progressive imaging system sales and sales management positions with General Electric Corporation Medical Systems Division. He received his BS in Engineering from the State University of New York, Stony Brook.

Douglas Hansmann, Ph.D
Chief Operating Officer

Doug is a co-founder of EKOS Corporation. He brings a rich background in product development, clinical studies and operations in the areas of ambulatory ECG monitoring, non-invasive blood pressure measurement, prosthetic limbs, artificial kidney dialysis, fiber optic blood gas sensing and therapeutic ultrasound. Prior to founding EKOS, he held management positions at 3M Health Care and Eli Lilly (Physio Control Corporation). Doug has a doctorate in mechanical/bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley and a bachelor of science degree in aeronautical engineering from Princeton University.

Matt Stupfel
Vice President, Finance & Administration

Matt has worked as a finance professional for over 18 years with experience in the development and manufacturing of medical devices and dental products. His most recent companies include Boston Scientific Corporation and Heart Technology. Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Seattle University.

Jocelyn Kersten
Vice President of QA, Regulatory & Clinical Affairs

Jocelyn has spent 16 years working in the medical device industry with 10 years of prior medical experience in cardiac catheterization and angiography labs. She has expert knowledge in the area of Regulatory Affairs from her prior companies of Boston Scientific Corporation and Heart Technology. Jocelyn holds a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a Regulatory Affairs Professional Certification from the University of Washington.
